Not exactly, although it is the first fully electrified vehicle of its kind for flexible liner installation in the Nordic region. What makes Pollex’s solution unique is that it combines bypass pumping and power supply in one integrated system. By using the truck’s existing battery as the energy source – essentially a giant power bank on wheels – we can power pumps and other equipment directly from the vehicle without the need for external diesel generators. The battery’s direct current is converted into alternating current, making it possible to deliver up to 45 kW of power. This is sufficient to operate the entire worksite, including the bypass pumping system, creating a more efficient, emission-free and resource-efficient solution.
A typical installation consumes only around 40–100 kWh per day, while the truck is equipped with a 600 kWh battery. This means that approximately 500 kWh remains available for driving to and from the worksite, providing a range of roughly 500 kilometres.

- Low noise levels, enabling work in residential neighbourhoods, during night-time hours and in noise-sensitive environments.
- High energy efficiency through optimised system design and minimal energy losses.

This type of vehicle also provides greater operational flexibility, including excellent accessibility in locations that are difficult to reach. In addition to its electric drivetrain and onboard power supply system, the vehicle has been developed with a strong focus on operator comfort and ease of use. The control system features a carefully designed user interface that enables intuitive and safe operation.

The vehicle demonstrates that trenchless pipeline rehabilitation can be carried out without diesel-powered support systems while maintaining high operational performance. Its key advantages include an emission-free worksite, lower noise levels, improved energy efficiency and a future-proof modular design. This makes it particularly well suited for urban environments, environmentally sensitive areas and contractors seeking to reduce their carbon footprint.
In short, it represents a significant step towards greater electrification and sustainability in the trenchless pipeline rehabilitation industry—a sector that already delivers substantial reductions in carbon emissions.
